Since I Skipped Church....

Well, I figured that since I stayed home from church to look after a sick Emma...I could at least do an update.

Well, poor Emma has been battling sickness for almost a month it seems. She got a cold, and it never really went away. Last week we took her to the Doc, and found out she has an ear infection. Now she's on meds for that, but last night she was coughing all night. She came in at one point and asked me to keep her company, so I reluctantly went and spent the night on the bottom bunk. What a night!! Morgan is doing good, other than a runny nose. She likes to tease me already. I will tell her to say "Pops" and she'll say "Mama mama mama". Yeah, thanks a lot Morgan. I thought we were friends. I am not going to let her borrow my Peach Dream My Little Pony. Not until she says "Pops"!!!

We took pictures of the girls yesterday. They have matching outfits on, pretty much. Here's one of my favorites from the bunch.

So I have been practice teaching for the past couple weeks. I am at Bedford Junior High. I travel about an hour to get there every day, due to buses and walking. But I have been having a great time teaching Grade 8 Math. I can't wait for the break though. 4 more days!!!

I got a letter from MSVU the other day. There was a pin enclosed that had the school logo, and the word "Scholar" on it. I thought they had the wrong address. The letter said that I made the Dean's First Class Honors List for last year. Sounds pretty good, huh? Actually, it's kind of a joke for the BEd students to get these (most get them), cause they hand out A's like prune juice at a Rita McNeil concert. It's still fun though...I can tease Kelly and say I am a scholar, anytime she questions me on something.

Last month we took Emma and Morgan to the Discovery Center. I objected, since the Natural History Museum was cheaper...but I am just the Pops here, not the CEO. It was fun though, even if I did spend more than I wanted to. Here's a few pictures to show...

Well, things are going fine for our little family. We are having a good season, and wish everyone else a great Christmas and New Year's. I am sure everyone has heard by now (and if you haven't that means you probably don't live in NS) that Kelly has a bun in the oven. Not literally...it's a saying. It means she's pregnant. See, the bun is the baby, and the oven is her belly. Kinda like how a bun rises as it bakes, the baby grows in her belly. Makes more sense now, huh? Kelly has been sick, but is getting better, I think. She's mostly been tired out. She's a trooper. But yeah, June 18th, 2008 will be the day we welcome the BOY...or girl. It's probably going to be a girl. That's okay though. I am fine with another girl. But if it happens to be a boy, that should be fun. A little quarterback. Named Henry. I'll call him Hank.

Extreme Makeover: Dresser Addition

Kelly made me do this blog, so I apologize if it is super boring. I know I almost fell asleep just writing this sentence. Just kidding, she did a great job on the dresser, with a lot of help from her Dad. She has been trying to get me to post this marvelous piece of work for some time. She said "people have been wanting to see it", to which I asked her "who?" She then said, "Beckey". Anyway, Beckey, this one is for you apparently. Hope everyone else likes it. (Oh, and tell Kelly she did a great job, so she'll stop asking me if it looks good enough).

Here are the "before" pictures....

(when she brought this home, I almost put her in a time out for buying something so hideous)

MOVE THAT BUS!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are the "after" pictures....

(She did such a great job on the dresser that I put myself in a time out for being doubtful)

Anyway, that's the dresser. We want to thank Ty Pennington for being so inspiring (except for his DUI charges...not so inspiring).

Pictures From The Ward Halloween Party

Yeah, so I have been really busy lately with trying to rid the world of evil villains (I recently took a new job as a local superhero. The pay isn't great, but you should see the tights I get to wear! You girls would be jealous!). So my point is...I am just going to put up a bunch of pictures on here from the ward party, and let ya see how much fun we had. There were lots of good costumes. One guy even dressed up as Josh Blakeney. It was a very creative costume. He didn't really capture the handsomeness of Josh though. That's a tough one to get right...he's so handsome.

Anyway, I tried to put them all into a fancy slide show, but our camera takes pictures in a large format, so it took too long to upload them into the slide show. We'll try to work on that though. Here are the photos...enjoy........

This is a pic of Morgan that I photoshoped. Thanks to Rhonda for helping us understand how to do cool things like this. She knows her stuff!

Morgan gets her walk on...a film by mom and pops.

Yeah, so Morgan has been doing some good walking lately. We try to bribe her to walk by putting up chocolate bars in front of her. She really goes for the Kit Kat Chunky bars!! It's so cute when she eats them. Is that bad of us? Well, it's more so me. I don't tell Kelly that I give her chocolate bars. She thinks I am always giving her strained carrots. Nope.

Anyway, just messing. But here is a short clip of her walking. It was a tough morning to get her to walk on camera. She's a diva already...not willing to get filmed if she hasn't had her cereal. It took a while, but we finally got a good one. Here is her film debut, playing the role of a walking baby.

(Emma seemed to think saying "CooCoo" would help her walk. It got old really fast.)

A Funny Story (well..I laughed a lot)

So last night around 9pm or so, Kelly and I were tired out from the week and decided to go to bed (I only usually go to bed so early on Sundays, cause I am so worn out). So Kelly went down ahead of me, while I did a final check on how my fantasy football team was doing.

When I get down there I went into our bedroom and noticed that Kelly was already in bed with the covers over her (which she does a lot...cause apparently it gets cold some nights-I find it warm most times). Anyway, so I thought nothing of it. So, I started singing "We all live in a Yellow Submarine", thinking she might find it funny. I don't know why I sang that song, it was in my head for some reason. Well next I decided to make up a new verse for the old Beatles tune. So i started belting out "Kelly smells like a moldy sub-sandwich".

Next thing I realize, after looking over in her direction, was that there was a big bump in the bed. I realized she was under the covers PRAYING!! So I ask her, "Hey, are you praying?" To which she says, "Yes!" So I started busting up laughing, thinking about the fact that she was praying the whole time while I was singing that song, and during the made up verse about her being stinky like a moldy sub!! I couldn't stop laughing. I kept thinking about this poor girl praying under the covers, while her idiot husband is singing "Kelly smells like a moldy sub-sandwich".

I AM A CLASS ACT!! At least we had a good laugh about it after.

So I turned 28 today.

Yeah, so today was the day i was born in '79. I miss the 70's.

It was a typical day in the neighborhood. I got up with Morgan at 5:30 so that Kelly could sleep in (she has been sick with a cold). And of course, Emma slept in, too (it always happens when I am gone to work early or when I can't get back to sleep. I swear...she is hard wired to wake up early when I am trying to sleep in). Morgan even went back to bed about half an hour after getting up. So, I had peace and quiet until I woke everyone up at 8am. I was too worried about my fantasy football team to go back to sleep. I knew I should have taken Cleo Lemon. Ah well. I guess I can't have the same record as the Patriots anymore.

We had a dinner here at our place, and my parent-in-laws were over for it. It was a nice dinnner. I helped Kelly out a bit with it. I was so tired out though. Oh, I even fell asleep in Sunday School class today. I can't tell you how many times I struggle at school to stay awake in class, and now it is transferring to church. I need more sleep!!! We should have a national "Let Rob Sleep" day. All Rob's everywhere get to sleep all day. Maybe girls named Roberta can too, since they are closely named.

I have no pictures for this post. I feel sorry for everyone who reads this. Sorry. Oh, so Kelly got me an "inexpensive" theatre-in-a-box for my brithday. We might take it back. I like surround sound, but we dont' really watch movies often enough. We might hold out a while and get something better anyway. Eventhough I trust the Coby brand...I have the sneaking suspicion that it is made by aliens. You should have smelled the smell when I opened the box and took everything out. It was definetly extra-terrestrial. No doubt. No doubt.

Anyway, so another day, another year older. I still feel like I am 17. At least that is how old I act most of the time. Except, I don't go driving around with my buddies throwing frnech fries from MacDonalds at pedestrians. And I don't play "nicky nine door", or get in trouble with the police. Well, maybe I act 15. I was better behaved then (and I still can say I act older than my kids...for now)

Guess who is 9 months old?? and starting to stand...

Morgan Adelaide MacLean
Hey blog friends...it's true, my little baby is now 9 months old. She has grown a lot in the past few months. She crawls everywhere, and is now starting to stand. She walks around hanging onto furniture with lots of confidence. So we expect her to start walking sometime soon.

Although right now she is sitting at my feet crying, and trying to stop this blog from happening...she can be quite cute at times. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't love waking up early but she can be pretty fun to be around at 5am. She even is making good attempts to say "pops" now. I am very impressed. Of course, it's hard to be super excited that early.

Kelly and I are also very pleased with her hair now. I mean, about four or so months ago her hair was UGLY! It was long on top and balding on the sides. Nasty stuff. But now it is getting curly on the sides, and looks like a typical little girl hair cut. PHEWW. I didn't want to have to buy her a wig at this early an age. Anyway, just thought I would throw a little 'shout out' to my baby girl.

ps-Emma is doing great. Loves school. She is growing up fast. Love my girls!!
